Traveling Exhibition Barbican AI: More than Human, Featuring Collaborative Displays by the Museum of Science, TUS, to be Held at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Miami)

From May 31 to September 1, 2025, the traveling exhibition Barbican AI: More than Human, to which the Museum of Science, TUS has contributed displays of traditional Japanese calculating tools such as sangi rods and abacuses, will be held at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami.

This exhibition, which first opened in London in 2019 and has since attracted over 90,000 visitors, has toured internationally, including stops in the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States. The central theme explores how artificial intelligence (AI) influences human development and advances in engineering, and how it might shape our future. The Museum of Science, TUS is contributing to the exhibit by supporting the display of traditional Japanese calculating tools such as abacuses in the section titled The Dream of AI, which explores the history of AI development in Japan.
